It’s The Simple Things in Life That We Forget

Posted by clayton.chan On February - 18 - 2011

This phrase came from the infamous singer, Usher. I know it’s strange; we know Usher as the guy who sings upbeat and dance/club like music. If you don’t know who Usher is, do you know the famous songs like “Yeah” and “Love in this club”? Before then, he was known to write and sing pretty deep and meaningful songs. Also, he was known as a gospel boy when he was younger. ;)

Although times change with our approach to music, in our tastes, etc., there is one thing that doesn’t change. God doesn’t change. This is something that we can definitely be comforted on. God not only changes us from the inside out but also teaches us things that draw us closer to him each and every day. One of the things that he teaches us is about the simple blessings that He has given us in our lives, whether it is food on the table or a roof over our heads.

A couple of days ago, I had to go to Cowell to check up on a cut that has not healed for more than a week and a half. After talking with the doc, I had to get prescription medication in case if my cut turned into a strep infection so I went to the local Rite Aid and purchased my prescription. After waiting and purchasing the meds, I came to that conclusion and just praised Him for providing medical insurance so that I didn’t need to pay more than the original price. Without insurance, I would’ve had to shell out $20. Although getting cold medicine is something that is common sense to take when we’re sick, it’s a good reminder that God takes care of us by providing simple things like: medicine, finances to pay for the medication or people to physically take care of us. God wants us to praise Him on the simple things in life. If He provides blessings like this, why would we not be praising the Creator that provides our needs? Even though we are struggling in the midst of things, being reminded of the simple and daily things in our lives gives us a change in perspective in understanding how God loves.
